Project Consultant - 2011-021 - Germantown, MD
The Project Consultant provides program management support to the Department of Energy’s (DOE) " Environmental Management Office of Project Assistance and Assurance, EM-11. Job Duties • Support Integrated Project Teams (IPT) with the delivery of consulting services in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract. • Support client meetings and working groups in the development and execution of plans and schedules. • Develop briefing reports, presentations, and recommendations to the client and the firm’s leadership groups. • Assist the client in leading the implementation of a Project Management System known as PARS II (Project Assessment & Reporting System). • Analyze project performance and expand the implementation of earned value management techniques, and provide recommendations on addressing potentially negative indicators • Identify project risk factors and use predictive forecasting methods to alert client to potential project issues • Provide analysis and reports on project performance, risks, and recommendations to DOE to provide added value • Act in an advisory capacity to client to recommend changes in program, develop process, and provide proactive evaluation and support QUALIFICATIONS: • BS Degree from an accredited university preferably in engineering, science or technology • Master’s degree preferred • 3+ years of experience with professional services consulting supporting clients in government industries preferred • 5+ years of experience with project management, on IT, environmental, energy or engineering programs for large scale projects. Government project experience is a plus • Excellent communication skills • Strong presentation skills with proven experience presenting to an audience of 15 or more • Experience working in project teams • Strong interpersonal skills • Advanced level experience using MS Office products including Power Point, Excel, Word and MS Project • Ability to obtain a government security clearance
